Beeswax, damar resin, dry pigments and shellac on cradled wood panel

My inspiration for this painting was drawn from the song "Sentado a Beira do Caminho" performed by Rosa Passos. This song is written in Portuguese language. The few lines in the second verse when translated in English are: "Here comes the rain, it wets my face and I cry so much, My tears and the raindrops, Mix together with my wailing..." The pigments chosen for this painting are like droplets of water, some that are heavy spatters and some that trickle down the contours of your face. That all encompassing feeling of grief and loss.
