Nina Simone manages to reach deep and grabs my heart with every song she sings. "Lilac Wine" is a song about intoxication and how that clouded state can make you see things, understand them and give you bravery to face them. This painting has that calm chaos within it, hypnotizing you with all the tiny bubbles in the way Nina's intoxicating voice is swirling inside your head.
