This painting was inspired by "Summer: III. Presto" from Vivaldi's Four Seasons. The final movement of Summer bursts with urgency and tension-yet when I listen to it, I'm transported to a still, sweltering moment. I imagine myself resting on the forest floor, hiding from the heavy summer heat. My gaze drifts upward, through the layers of treetops, toward a sky pulsing with light. My eyes are half-closed, lulled by the warmth and drowsiness. Sunbeams flicker and dance through the leaves, trembling gently in the wind. There's an electric pause in the air, thick with the scent of an approaching storm.
This painting holds that suspended moment-heat, beauty, and anticipation-right before the sky breaks open.
