Beeswax, damar resin, pigments and shellac on cradled wood panel
This piece was named after a song by Sweedish Electronic Duo called Gidge. Their music is influenced by the Nordic environment, especially the woods. A hulder is a seductive forest creature found in Scandinavian folklore. Her name derives from a root meaning "covered" or "secret" and in Norwegian folklore, she is known as "Huldra". This painting has these gorgeous earthy, warm autumnal colours. With the wispy layer of shellac, it creates ethereal air to it as if something is hidden within the forest, moving faster than you...watching you.
